Rio de Janeiro’s civil police managed to recover this Saturday (25) the vehicle of former Fluminense striker, Fred. The car, a Mercedes GLE 400, was taken by criminals during a robbery in the early hours of Thursday (23), in the Ipanema neighborhood, in the south zone of Rio.
A video posted on social media shows the moment the vehicle is taken to 14 DP, the Leblon police station, in the south zone of Rio.
The tricolor idol was the victim of armed criminals when he returned from a post-game get-together at Maracanã, where Fluminense had beaten São Paulo, 1-0, in the Brazilian Championship.
Security camera footage shows the moment the former player is surprised by criminals. Fred was in the car waiting for the garage door of the building where he lives to open when the robbery occurred.
The action was very quick and the former player even lay down on the ground during the assault. Fred was not injured. According to the police, efforts are underway to arrest those responsible for the crime.
