Where and when to watch Italy-Australia Davis Cup final with Jannik Sinner

Sinner resisted to win even when Djokovic seemed superior in singles. He did something like a champion, demonstrating enormous maturity which was celebrated with a big smile. «I don’t know if it was the match of my life, but it was one of the important ones» said Sinner, guess what?, always with a smile. «It helps a lot that the last competition of the season is a team competition, because you get a lot of energy from your teammates, from everyone, and then it’s different with the public too. It was a beautiful match. In the end I was really happy that the team could at least play the doubles, that they could still have a chance to win the Davis Cup, and we won that too. Yes, it was a really nice day».

Lorenzo Sonego confirms. «It wasn’t easy, it’s never easy when you have Djokovic against you. Today, however, Jannik was shooting missiles from the baseline and it was also easier for me to score points at the net. We are a real team and having the public on our side, which has supported us for three years, has also helped us overcome some complicated moments, like when Djokovic was also playing with the public.”

He won’t be able to do it in the final where Italy went despite Lorenzo Musetti’s initial defeat. The match between Italy and Australia (who won in the previous finals with the Azzurri in 1960, 1961, 1977) starts at 4pm and is played at the Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena in Malaga, Spain where the final stages of the Davis Cup take place according to the new system of competition.

Australia’s number one is Alex De Minaur, 24 years old, who was defeated by Sinner in the final of the Toronto Masters. With him Alexei Popyrin, number 50 in the world, Max Purcell, number 45, and Jordan Thompson, number 56.
