He left a little over a year ago, Giovanni Allevi’s journey in the treatment of the myeloma he had discovered he had. «A sweet-sounding neoplasm», he wrote in the summer of 2022 on social networks, announcing his illness to fans, «but no less insidious for this». Since then, the composer has never stopped updating his audience on his difficult journey, made up of great physical pain and discomfort at having to temporarily give up his great love, music. But also done of great support from all those who follow him and love him for his artistic career: solidarity and messages of encouragement have arrived continuously, from ordinary people as well as celebrities, and Allevi has never stopped thanking them for this.
As he also does in the last post on Instagram, where he shows himself in a moment of his physical rehabilitation. «My condition confirms to me that there is a world, made of humanity, kindness, authenticity and courage»writes the pianist who with his works has managed to bring classical music closer to an ever wider audience.
“Now I’m like a veteran, tormented by wounds and nightmares,” writes Allevi, specifying that his journey is far from finished, and is still full of pain. «But one step at a time, heroically, I’m getting out of hell», he says, specifying that there are improvements, and that a much better scenario is on the horizon. Perhaps the worst is now behind us, as he seems to imply with that exit from hell he talks about. And in fact it should be noted that this photo, unlike the one posted a couple of months ago, finally sees him on his feet, on a (tiring) journey towards improvement, and no longer in a hospital bed.
And this time too, messages of support from fans and colleagues are not long in coming. “And we send you all the love and strength we have. I love you Gio!», writes Nina Zilli. «And the world awaits you with open arms», echo the Jalisse. And Antonella Clerici sends a little heart. The wish, on everyone’s part, is that this great interpreter of the most elegant contemporary music gets back on his feet as soon as possible, and goes back to doing what he has always done: excite us with his art.
