Government of SP announces credit line of up to R$300,000 for each Shopping 25 merchant

Governor Tarcísio de Freitas and the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, visited this Friday (1st) the location of Shopping 25, in Brás. The shopping center was completely destroyed by fire last Wednesday (30).

On the agenda, Tarcísio announced that merchants whose businesses were affected will receive a credit line of R$100 million, in order to reduce the losses caused. The process will be carried out through the Desenvolvimento SP program, along the same lines as those affected by the Enel blackout.

Each CNPJ in good standing can use up to R$300,000 for investment and R$100,000 for working capital. The grace periods are 60 and 36 months, respectively, with interest of 0.95% per month.

From the moment the first combat truck arrived, the Fire Department remained on site working on the aftermath. There were 200 stores in the space and around 1,500 people were employed.

“We are in a critical period, at the end of the year, in terms of what is a more promising period for trade movement. We want to relocate these 600 tenants who were in that shopping center and there are already other alternatives for this. One of them is to take advantage of the concession that the city hall itself has,” said Tarcísio.

There is a prospect, on the part of the Fire Department, that the building will be released to traders this Friday. During the morning, some were able to access the site and remove items that – surprisingly – were not burned.
