Grammy will be delivered this Sunday (5); Anita is in contention

The ceremony of the 65th edition of the Grammy Awards, the main award in the music industry, takes place on Sunday (5), at 10 pm [horário de Brasília], in Los Angeles, in the United States. The awards will be broadcast on HBO Max.

The singer Anita is the only Brazilian nominated this year. She competes for Breakthrough Artist.

On social networks, she shared that she is already in Los Angeles and confessed that she was looking forward to the event.

“My category is one of the most important, it’s very nervous. We are now starting the events, participation. I have a bunch of events to go to this week before the Grammys. They do a lot of parties, a lot of events, a lot of stuff and I’m going to be at a big part of them. And now, yes, it’s giving you super butterflies in your stomach,” she said.

It is the 22nd Brazilian nomination for the greatest music award. The last ones took place in 2020 in the categories Best Instrumental Arrangement with Voice Accompaniment, with Diego Figueiredo, and Best Latin Jazz Album, with “Sorte!”, by Thalma de Freitas, but both did not win.

The last time a Brazilian artist won a Grammy was in 2017, with Eliane Elias in the Best Latin Jazz Album category, with “Dance of Time”.

The awards will feature a series of concerts by big names in music, such as: Harry Styles, Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Sam Smith and more.

Pop star Beyoncé led the field of Grammy-nominated musicians, setting her up against Adele, Styles and others for the top honor for album of the year.

She has received nine nominations for music’s highest honors. This brought her career total to 88, tying her with husband Jay-Z as the most nominated artist in Grammy history.

the rapper Kendrick Lamar also up for album of the year for “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” received eight nominations in total, followed by Adele and singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile with seven each.
