HBO released the trailer for the fourth season of “Succession” on Friday (27), which premieres on March 26. The acidic dialogues, family fights and meme-worthy moments are trademarks of the series.
The latest trailer for “Succession” season 4 pits three of the Roy brothers (minus Connor, of course) against their father, the unbeatable titan Logan Roy.
When we last left them, Shiv’s husband, the typically weak Tom Wambsgans, provided Logan with information that could effectively prevent the brothers from succeeding their father as head of the family business.
Roy’s sons vying for Logan’s job (and his love) have always driven the action on the show, but it’s the interpersonal drama that keeps us glued together. The trailer shows Tom asking Logan if they would continue to be partners if he and Shiv were to “blow it out”.
Patriarch Roy menacingly responds, “If we’re good, we’re good.” Nothing like screwing one of your kids to join your cowardly partner. (And shortly afterwards she confessed that she didn’t “love” him, by the way – no “Sucession” character has a healthy personal life and business success!).

Also seen in the brief trailer: Alexander Skarsgård as tech CEO Lukas Matsson, Shiv methodically walking through a newsroom, Connor and Willa apparently getting married (another “Succession” wedding!).
It’s exciting enough to keep us excited until March without giving away too much of the plot that will undoubtedly fuel the digital water cooler this spring. Some lingering questions we have from the trailer:
- Will Shiv and Tom split up?
- Which of the brothers will return to Logan’s side?
- Will the Matsson deal succeed?
- Will Roman continue to sexually harass Gerri?
- Did Greg sell his soul for good after siding with Tom at Caroline’s wedding? There must be some good in that gangly man, right?
- Will Willa really go through with her marriage to Connor, and has Connor renounced his dream of the presidency?
- Kendall make it through the season entire?!
The acclaimed drama returns just in time to fill the vacancy left by HBO’s apocalyptic adaptation, “The Last of Us”, whose first season will conclude in March. The fourth season of “Sucession” premieres on March 26.
