Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov walked out of the G20 meeting after being ignored by the ministers present at the event, according to Der Spiegel newspaper.
According to the publication, the ministers participating in the meeting, which takes place this Friday (8) in Indonesia, refused to take a photo with the Russian diplomat and decided to openly ignore him.
The German newspaper also adds that countries that belong to the G7 did not participate in a dinner, as a form of protest.
Putin talks about continuing the war
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday issued a warning to the West and Ukraine, saying the war could drag on until “the last Ukrainian is left standing”.
“Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield. Well what can I say? Let them try,” Putin said during a meeting with the heads of Duma party factions, which aired on state television Russia-24.
“We continually hear that the West is ready to fight with us until the last Ukrainian is left standing. This is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people. However, it seems that everything is heading towards that,” he said.
Ukraine will not give up territory, Zelensky tells CNN
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Wolf Blitzer of CNN on Thursday (7), that Ukraine is not willing to cede any of its land to Russia, standing firm that a concession of Ukrainian territory will not be part of any diplomatic negotiation to end the war.
“Ukrainians are not ready to give away their land, to accept that these territories belong to Russia. This is our land,” Zelensky said in an exclusive interview broadcast Thursday on “The Situation Room” of CNN .
“We’ve always talked about it and we intend to prove it,” he added.
