In the last show, Marília Mendonça sang with a child with Down Syndrome

The singer Marília Mendonça’s last show took place in the city of Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo, last Monday (1st). During the performance, the artist asked little Valentina, age 9, who has Down syndrome and an amputated leg, to sing with her on stage.

When she heard about Marília’s performance, Valentina’s family, who are from São Paulo, took the girl to the city to fulfill her dream: meeting the artist.

The girl’s parents then sought out the owner of the place where Marília would perform so that she could talk to the singer’s production, who saw photos of Valentina and called her to talk in the dressing room, inviting her during the show to sing along.

“She’s going to keep my microphone to sing, because she said this is better”, Marília warned the audience, then singing “Eu Sei de Cor” with the girl (check out the moment in the video above).

The accident

The accident that killed Marília Mendonça and four other people happened in Piedade de Caratinga, in Vale do Rio Doce, in western Minas Gerais. The plane crashed at a distance of three kilometers from the airport in Caratinga, the city where the singer would perform.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the Civil Police of Minas Gerais are investigating the accident.
