Earlier it became known that Intel continues negotiations with SiFive, a developer of RISC-V chips, hoping to buy it for $ 2 billion. This is part of a massive restructuring led by new CEO Pat Gelsinger. Intel plans to expand its manufacturing capacity through the IDM 2.0 initiative, under which the company has already announced plans to build two new factories in Arizona and offer manufacturing services.

GlobalFoundries, once a spin-off from AMD, is a major contract manufacturer of semiconductor products, in particular, continuing to fulfill orders from AMD. It currently owns about 7% of the global contract manufacturing market.
