Jennifer Lopez talks about breaking up twenty years ago with Ben Affleck: “I thought I was dying”

For months now Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck – after a flashback that thrilled the whole world – I am husband and wife. The two stars said “yes” to each other twice. First, last July, there was the secret wedding in Las Vegas. Then in August the one was staged with great fanfare at the Affleck estate at I receive, Georgia. Right there Ben and J. Lo they were supposed to get married in 2003 after two years of relationship. But everything was blown up at the last minute. Due, fear, to his reluctance, at the time, to start a family. Jennifer in the new interview also talked about the beginnings of their love. The two met in 2001 on the set of the film Lilies. But it wasn’t lightning strike: “Working together, we became very good friends. We only realized after that crazy about each other. I found myself thinking about him even after the film ended. But I had to mind my business, because I was getting out of a relationship at the time.” Ben and J.Lo. officially announced their engagement in 2002, when the pop star was still busy with her divorce papers from his second husband, dancer Cris Judd.

In 2003, when everything was ready for the wedding, the stars amazed the world with a sudden and unexpected farewell. Of which in all these years they have never provided explanations. But now Jen, speaking with Zane Lowe, explained that the breakup depended in part on the media pressure, on the incessant attention of journalists and photographers: «Part of what destroyed us as a couple came precisely from the external energy that constantly fell upon us».

Jennifer and Ben reunited in Spring 2021. They were both single at the time. He, separated from Jennifer Garnermother of her three children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, a few months earlier he had broken up with his latest flame Ana de Armas. She, behind three failed marriages – with the Cuban waiter Ojani Noa; with the dancer Cris Judd; with colleague Marc Anthony from which he had the twins Emma and Max – in March 2021 he had broken up with betrothed number four, Alex Rodriguez. The rest is history: twenty years after the farewell, the time has come for a happy ending for Ben and Jennifer, crowned with a double wedding. And now, according to Lopez, nothing will be able to scratch this great love of return: “Ben and I don’t say now, ‘Let’s see how it goes.’ No. Now it’s, “It’s you and me. That’s all. Until the end””.
