Ukrainian armed forces have made “significant progress” in pushing out the Russian invaders, but it is difficult to gauge whether the war in Ukraine is at a turning point, said today (14/9) the president of USA, Joe Biden.
Asked whether the war in Ukraine has reached a tipping point, the American president characteristically stated: “The question is unanswerable. It’s hard to say. Clearly, the Ukrainians have made significant progress. But I think it will take a long time.”
Reassuring about the big drop in the New York stock market
US President Joe Biden also said the New York stock market — which posted heavy losses on Tuesday amid investor worries about inflation — did not necessarily reflect the overall state of the US economy.
Biden, who spoke to reporters during a visit to the state of Delaware to vote in the primary, also said he was not worried after the release of the latest data on inflation in the United States, although the decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI ) in August was smaller than economic analysts expected.
