Kansas: Hunting dog steps on loaded gun, shoots him in the back and kills him

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office on United States of America stated that a man died after a gunshot, which came from his own dog.

Just before 10 a.m. Saturday (1/21), the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to an incident call in the area of ​​South 80th Street and River Road regarding a man who had been shot in the back.

The sheriff’s office said the 30-year-old man was sitting in the front passenger seat of his truck when the dog stepped on the loaded rifle in the back seat, causing the gun to go off. The bullet hit the man in the back.

“Units arrived within minutes of the call to Immediate Action and began rendering first aid,” the sheriff’s office said. The injured person died on the spot.

The sheriff’s office said the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Wellington Fire and Ambulance also responded to the scene.
