US and European tank donations to Ukraine will bring “more suffering” to the country and “more tension to the continent”, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, more NATO weapons bring more suffering to people in Ukraine. It also brings more tension to the continent. But it cannot stop Russia from achieving our goals,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the CNN .
Germany announced Tuesday that it would send Leopard 2 tanks to help bolster Ukraine’s war effort, according to a German newspaper.
Meanwhile, US officials familiar with the negotiations said the Biden administration is finalizing plans to send approximately 30 US-made Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
