Last supermoon of the year shines in the skies this Thursday (11) in various parts of the world

The last supermoon of the year can be seen this Thursday night (11) in various parts of the world. Call of Sturgeon supermoon the phenomenon will light up the sky for three nights, according to NASA.

In total, 2022 had three supermoons. They appeared in the sky in June, July and tonight. They were called, respectively, Strawberry Moon, Deer Moon and Sturgeon Moon, due to the large volume of this type of fish at this time of year in countries such as the United States and Canada.

The term “supermoon” was used by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 to designate a new or full moon that occurs when the star is 90% of perigee, its closest approach to Earth.
