Liberty Insurance has appointed Juan Miguel Estallo new executive director, with the approval of the board of directors of the company and subject to approval by the regulator.
Estallo will oversee the West European Market, which includes Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Northern Ireland, replacing Tom McIlduff, who recently announced his departure from the company. McIlduff, who has led Liberty Seguros since 2017, will work with his successor to ensure a smooth transition over the next few months.
Juan Miguel Estallo has held different positions within the company, forming part of the management team since 2013 and, more recently, as executive director of product.
Liberty announced last July an investment of 100 million euros to create a new insurance management strategy, designing a concept of disruptive technology based on a digital ecosystem in the public cloud. Since then, the direct motor business in Spain and Ireland is already operating as an ‘insurtech’, based on the offer of modular, customizable and simple products.
