Lula should go to Massa’s inauguration, but he won’t go if Milei emerges victorious

Aides to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) outline different scenarios for the Planalto’s reactions depending on the result of the election in Argentina this Sunday, as found by the CNN .

If candidate Sergio Massa wins the election, it is very likely that Lula will call him directly to congratulate him and attend the inauguration ceremony.

If Javier Milei wins, Planalto’s demonstration must take place through a note and greatly reduces the possibility of Lula being honored at the inauguration.

The matter is not openly commented on, but the Brazilian president declared this week that Argentina needs a leader who respects democracy.

Milei even stated that he would not talk to Lula, whom he called a communist. The PT and other left-wing parties declared support for Massa, while Bolsonarism and right-wing deputies are with Milei.
