Marisa Monte will give a free performance with orchestra in SP

Marisa Monte will give a benefit performance with Osusp (Symphonic Orchestra of the University of São Paulo) on the day June 22nd (Saturday), at 3:50 pm . The show will take place at Praça do Relógio at USP (University of São Paulo), in Cidade Universitária, in São Paulo.

The event is part of the celebration of the university’s 90th anniversary and the objective is to collect food and coats and blankets for the NGO Cufa (Central Única das Favelas), the press office confirmed to CNN.

The performance will be conducted by maestro André Bachur and the ensemble formed by Marisa Monte and Osusp will perform a representation of the most striking works of the artist’s career.

In December 2023, Monte received the title of honorary doctor from the University of São Paulo.

The recognition was granted because the singer was one of 122 personalities who stood out for their contribution to culture, education and humanity, according to the institution’s selection.
