The Federal Supreme Court (STF) resumes this Wednesday (10) the judgment on the new Administrative Improbity Law. The Court assesses whether the changes made last year can be applied to cases in progress and to those already defined.
Congress had approved that damages caused by recklessness, malpractice or negligence can no longer be constituted as impropriety, in addition to reducing the statute of limitations for the illegal act. This was the biggest change to the rule since it went into effect in 1992.
“The action must prove the free and conscious will of the public agent to achieve the illicit result, voluntariness or the mere exercise of the function being not enough. The action or omission resulting from a divergence in the interpretation of the law cannot be punished either”, says the Chamber.
Lula and Bolsonaro try to secure support from the business sector
Fulfilling an agenda in São Paulo (SP) on Tuesday (9), Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL) met with businessmen from different sectors in order to increase the support of this group for the presidential elections of October.
Leader in polls of voting intentions, according to the aggregator CNN/Locomotiva, Lula went to the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), where he assured those present that he would carry out administrative and tax reforms if elected.

United by Lula and Alckmin, PT and PSB are adversaries in 12 states
Together in the first round in four presidential elections since redemocratization, PT and PSB have not repeated the alliance since 2010. With the slate formed by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Geraldo Alckmin, the two parties reissued in 2022 a union similar to that of 1989, when the PT nominated the head of the plate (Lula), and the PSB, the vice president (José Paulo Bisol). 33 years ago, they finished the elections in second place, behind Fernando Collor de Mello, then in the PRN.

In another 12 states, however, PT and PSB are on opposite sides. They are: Acre, Amazonas, Roraima, Tocantins, Ceará, Paraíba, Alagoas, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, in addition to the Federal District.
Musk sells $6.9 billion Tesla shares, cites chance of forced Twitter deal
The executive president of Tesla the billionaire Elon Musk , sold 7.92 million shares of the electric vehicle maker worth $6.9 billion. According to the businessman, the funds could be used to finance a possible agreement with the twitter in case he loses a legal battle to the social network.
“In the (hopefully unlikely) event that Twitter forces this deal to close and some equity partners fail to materialize, it is important to avoid an emergency sale of Tesla shares,” he said in a tweet.
In early July, Musk tore up his deal to buy the platform for $44 billion.
Twitter sued Musk to force him to complete the transaction, dismissing his claim that he was misled about the number of spam accounts on the social network as buyer remorse after a slump in tech stocks.
The two sides go to trial on October 17.
