A postman’s uniform, a watch so as not to “lose time” and an appointment with an ophthalmologist to “see better” are among the requests written in the letters sent to the 2024 Correios Santa Claus campaign.
As determined by CNN so far, the initiative has received more than 355 thousand correspondences. In a note, the company informed that it expects to meet all orders and that most children ask for simple things like balls, cars, dolls and slimes.
However, some of them ask Santa Claus for gifts that are considered unusual by the company. Among the requests are:
- A tool kit to “give to your brother” which, according to the child, “is the best gift he has ever received in his life”
- A girl said she arrives late to school every day and asked for a watch “so she doesn’t get late anymore”
Furthermore, a boy said in a letter that he lost his father and that his mother did not want to take care of him. That’s why, according to the boy, he lives with his grandparents. However, he asked for a white Botafogo uniform.
To date, 129,000 cards are still available for adoption . São Paulo, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Ceará and Rio de Janeiros are the states with the most cards available to adopt.
How to adopt a card:
- Access the campaign blog ( here)
- Choose the state and city that has cards selected for the campaign
- All available cards will appear for reading
- Up to 50 cards can be chosen
- Enter your registration by post to complete the adoption
Adoption can also be done by companies and legal entities by registering on the campaign blog providing the following data:
- City
- Company name
- Contact name
- Telephone
- Number of letters to be adopted
It is possible to cancel the adoption of the card at any time within the campaign period through the created account.
The chosen cards will be removed from the system. If it is not possible to fulfill the request or the cancellation is not made within the deadline, the child will be left without the gift.
How to deliver the gift:
- Wrap the shipment correctly
- If it is fragile, use the appropriate packaging and write “fragile” on the package
- The letter header must be completely filled in and attached to the packaging
- The card number identifies the adopted card
- Delivery information can be requested
The gift is delivered in person at participating agencies and locations defined in the registration.

- The child must write the letter in handwriting
- Photograph the letter so that it can be understood
- Fill out the form on blog
