The Cyprus issue was raised during the meeting of the Prime Minister of Greece with the President of the United States, said today the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis, noting that he is completely satisfied.
Speaking to reporters at the Presidential Palace, he was asked to refer to yesterday’s meeting of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with US President Joe Biden and when asked if he had been briefed on its contents, President Anastasiadis said: “I am absolutely satisfied. “The Prime Minister, after the coordination we had during my recent visit to Athens, raised the Cyprus problem, raised issues that disrupt peace or pose a threat to peace in the region. Of course, I will be informed as soon as the Prime Minister returns.”
Answering a question whether Mr. Mitsotakis conveyed his message to President Biden, the President of the Republic said: “(conveyed) our determination to work for a solution, based on UN resolutions, SA decisions and of course of the principles and values of the EU. Moreover, the opportunity is given on the occasion of the violation of international law with the same pretexts that Turkey used during the invasion of 1974 “.
