Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that he had a “long and substantial” telephone conversation with French President Emanuel Macron about the war in Ukraine, according to Reuters.
“We talked about the course of the hostilities, the operation to rescue the army from Azovstal and the prospects of the negotiation process. I raised the issue of fuel supply to Ukraine,” Zelensky said on Twitter.
“We also discussed the defense support from France, the preparation of the 6th package of sanctions [της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης κατά της Ρωσίας], possible ways of exporting Ukrainian agricultural products. We have had a substantive discussion on our application for EU candidate status. ”
