“If Ukraine falls, the whole of Europe will fall. If we win – and I am sure of that – it will indeed be a great victory for the Republic,” said Volodymyr Zelensky in a message broadcast on anti-war demonstrations via giant screens in cities in countries such as Georgia, Poland, Hungary, France and Germany.
“It will be a victory for freedom,” he said, calling on his country to support him.
“If we win, it will be a victory for the whole democratic world, a victory of light over darkness, of freedom over slavery,” he added.
Before beginning his message, Mr. Zelensky observed a minute’s silence for the dead.
