Oscar 2023: Find out where to watch the films nominated for the award

The Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced, on Tuesday (24), the list of nominees for the Oscar 2023.

The award ceremony takes place on March 12 at 9 pm [horário de Brasília]In Los Angeles.

Until then, you can schedule yourself to watch the productions that compete for the desired statuette.

Some films have not yet premiered in Brazil, others are available in theaters or streaming. Anyway, it’s time to start the Oscar 2023 marathon and the CNN help you in this mission.

See below where to watch the nominees for the 95th edition of the Academy Awards.

Movie theater

  • Avatar: The Way of Water

James Cameron’s feature received five nominations: Best Picture, Visual Effects, Art Direction and Sound.

The production premiered in theaters in December 2022 and follows in theaters .

  • The Fabelmans

The intimate portrayal of Steven Spielberg is up for seven awards, including: Best Picture, Director, Actress (Michelle Williams), Supporting Actor (Judd Hirsch), Original Screenplay, Original Score and Art Direction.

The feature is in theaters in theaters from January 12th.

  • Babylon

Damien Chazelle’s mega-production competes in three categories: Best Original Soundtrack, Art Direction and Costume Design.

The film is showing in Brazilian cinemas.

  • Puss in Boots: Last Order

With Brazilian participation, the feature film of the Shrek universe is in theaters and was nominated for Best Animation.

Todd Field’s film can take up to six awards: Best Picture, Director, Actress (Cate Blanchett), Original Screenplay, Cinematography and Editing.

The production hits theaters this week, January 26th .

  • Inisherin’s Banshees

the fable of Martin McDonagh competes in nine categories, namely: Best Picture, Director, Actor (Colin Farrell), Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan), Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon), Original Screenplay, Original Soundtrack and Editing.

The film hits theaters on the day February 2 nd and later on Star+ on March 22.

  • Triangle of Sadness

swedish movie Ruben Ostlund received three nominations: Best Picture, Direction and Original Screenplay.

The production hits the big screen February 16th .

  • The whale

Film that marks the return of Brendan Fraser to the big screen, who competes in the category of Best Actor, premieres in theaters on February 23 .

The production was also nominated in the categories of Best Supporting Actress (Hong Chau) and Hair and Makeup.

  • Empire of Light

The feature starring Olivia Colman receives only one nomination: Best Cinematography.

The production hits theaters today February 23 .

  • Among Women

With two nominations, Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay, “Among Women” opens in theaters on the day March 2nd .

Netflix

  • Nothing New on the Front

The German film competes in nine categories: Best Film, International Film, Adapted Screenplay, Original Soundtrack, Photography, Makeup and Hairstyles, Art Direction, Visual Effects and Sound.

The production launched on Netflix in November last year.

Ana de Armas took Andrew Dominik’s production to an Oscar after being nominated for Best Actress.

The Marilyn Monroe biopic is available on Netflix.

  • Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

The sequel to the big hit “Between Knives and Secrets” achieved the same feat as the first film: an Oscar nomination for the screenplay.

The production is from Netflix.

  • RRR (Revolt, Rebellion, Revolution)

The Indian film scored an award nomination for the song “Naatuu Naatu” . It is available on Netflix.

  • Bardo, False Chronicle of Some Truths

From the principal Alejandor Inarritu , the production was only remembered at the 2023 Oscars for its photography. The film can be watched on Netflix.

  • Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro returns to the Oscars with a nomination for Pinocchio, which competes for Best Animation.

The film is on Netflix.

Another animation that is on the streaming service is the production of Chris Williams .

HBO Max

The King of Rock’s biopic by Baz Luhrmann won eight Oscar 2023 nominations, including: Best Film, Actor (Austin Butler), Photography, Art Direction, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Editing and Sound.

The production hit theaters in July last year and is now available on HBO Max.

Batman’s new adventure alongside Catwoman won three nominations in the technical categories: Best Sound, Makeup and Hair and Visual Effects.

The production can be watched on HBO Max.

Prime Video

  • Argentina, 1985

The film about the Argentine military dictatorship, which competes for Best International Film, is available on Prime Video.

  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After

Marvel’s feature made history by becoming the first superhero film to be nominated in the acting categories with Angela Bassett in Best Supporting Actress.

In addition, the production competes in four other categories: Best Original Song, Costume Design, Visual Effects and Hair and Makeup.

It hits Disney+ on the day February 1st .

  • Red: Growing up is a Beast

Disney’s animated feature earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animation. It’s available on studio streaming.

Mubi

The film secured an Oscar nomination with Paul Mescal as Best Actor.

The film opened in early December and is still playing in select theaters. It is also available on the streaming service. Mubi .

AppleTV+

  • Ticket

Brian Tyree Henry secured the production’s only Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category.

The film is an original Apple production in partnership with the A24 studio and is available on the company’s streaming service.

Paramount+

  • Top Gun: Maverick

The sequel to the 1990s hit earned Tom Cruise his first Academy Award nomination – as a producer.

The film competes in six categories: Best Film, Adapted Screenplay, Visual Effects, Editing, Sound and Original Song.

  • Everything Everywhere at the Same Time

The main title of the 95th edition of the Academy Awards, with 11 nominations, is available for rent or purchase on platforms such as: Google Play, Prime Video, AppleTV and YouTube Filmes.

The feature of Daniel Kwan Nominated for Best Picture, Director, Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu), Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Original Screenplay, Original Score, Original Song, Costume Design and Makeup and Hairstyling.

No premiere date

  • Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris

The dazzling world of Dior earned a nomination: Best Costume Design.

The production arrived in Brazilian theaters in December, however, it is not yet available on streaming services.

The British drama was nominated in two categories: Best Actor (Bill Nighy) and Best Adapted Screenplay.

In Brazil, the film is not yet available.

Film starring Andrea Riseborough, nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress, does not have a premiere date in Brazil.
