PF seizes R$ 1.5 million hidden in suitcase in Minas Gerais

A suitcase with R$ 1.5 million in cash was found and seized in Uberaba (MG) this Friday (31). It was during the 2nd phase of Operation Rota do Ferro, which investigates drug trafficking, criminal organization and money laundering.

According to the PF, the money was hidden in places of difficult access, in the house of an investigated person. Investigators point out that this value comes from gains from drug trafficking. Vehicles, weapons and cell phones were also seized.

This Friday, a man who was outlawed was arrested. According to the PF, he maintained companies in his name in order to justify the amounts received with the purchase and sale of cocaine. During the entire investigation, 17 investigated have already been detained.

This Friday’s action was the result of the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Uberaba (MG), supervised by the Federal Police and made up of the Civil and Military Police of Minas Gerais, with the support of the Narcotics Repression Police Station – DRE/PF/ SP and the Sensitive Investigation Group of the Federal Police of São Paulo – GISE/PF/SP.

The prisoner will answer for the crimes of drug trafficking and criminal organization, in addition to the crime of money laundering with penalties that, added, can reach 38 years of imprisonment.
