The heavy rain that hit the city of São Paulo throughout the afternoon of this Tuesday (7th) caused flooding and made it difficult for people from São Paulo to return home.
The storm affected the operation of transport on rails and, for this reason, the city hall suspended the rotation of vehicles in the afternoon.
The result was an increase in the number of cars on the streets. According to the Traffic Engineering Company (CET), at 5:30 pm the city had 431 kilometers of traffic jams – the annual record.
The heavy rains also hit neighboring municipalities, such as Santana de Parnaíba, Cajamar, Barueri and Carapicuíba. In Osasco, according to the Fire Department, a person was dragged by the water and, until 9 pm this Tuesday, had not yet been found. The search has been suspended and will resume in the morning.
