The singer Roberta Miranda felt sick when she learned of the death of Marília Mendonça, this Friday (5), and had to be hospitalized. She was traveling to the city of Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, and when she learned of the death, she went into a state of shock.
Roberta returned to São Paulo and had to be taken to the Albert Einstein hospital, where she underwent exams. On medical recommendation, she remained under observation until 10:00 pm (GMT).
Marília Mendonça was traveling to fulfill her concert schedule when the aircraft fell into a watercourse near the BR-474 highway, in the city of Piedade de Caratinga, in Vale do Rio Doce, in the west of Minas Gerais.
According to Infraero, the plane with the artist took off at 1:05 pm (GMT) from Santa Genoveva airport, in Goiânia. The aircraft is a twin-engine Beech Aircraft, from the company PEC Táxi Aéreo, from Goiás, with the prefix PT-ONJ.
The plane has been operating since the beginning of the year, making flights with the problem on the windshield, causing the glass to cloud over, causing visual damage on landings and take-offs, according to the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). The fact was known by the company, but ignored.
The Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais (CBMMG) was called around 3:30 pm to respond to the incident. Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) reported that the aircraft hit a cable from a company distribution tower.
In addition to Marília, producer Henrique Ribeiro, the uncle and advisor to singer Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, the pilot identified as Geraldo Martins de Medeiros and the co-pilot as Tarciso Pessoa Viana also died.
