One of the most anticipated attractions on the third day of Rock in Rio 2024 the band Evanescence went up to the Palco Mundo at 9:20 pm this Sunday (15), but, in the first moments of the presentation, they suffered from a technical problem.
About to start the performance, the vocalist Amy Lee noticed a problem with his in-ear headphones — the type of headphones used by artists on stage. Until the device was fixed by the team, the show was delayed by just over 10 minutes.
Showing herself to be more confident than the first time she performed at the festival, in 2011, the singer excited the crowd with a series of the band’s classics, such as “Wasted on You” , “End of the Dream” ,“Imaginary” and “Blind Belief” — the latter even prompted a chorus of “Amy, I love you.”
Giving her all in the performance, in addition to delivering powerful vocals, the artist also dedicated a part of the show to playing the piano in songs such as “Call me When You’re Sober”.
As soon as they touched “Going Under” Evanescence won over the thousands of people present, who sang along to the hit song.
After just over an hour of show, Amy Lee declared to the audience, saying she loved the energy of Brazilian fans. “Whenever we are together, time flies by so quickly. Brazil is a big part of our journey,” she said on stage.
To end the performance, the group kept the energy high by playing the long-awaited “My Immortal” — which even had verses in Portuguese sung by the vocalist.
When everyone thought it was over, the group surprised everyone by closing to the sound of “Bring me to Life”, causing the crowd present to get off the ground.
Still on this night, the band Avenged Sevenfold will close the Palco Mundo, on the third day of the festival’s performances. Before Evanescence, there were also performances Journey and The Paralamas of Success.
