A man identified as Luiz Paulo Lemos Junior, known as “Juninho” and Chupeta”, was arrested in the act, this Thursday (7), during a Federal Police operation, on Ilha do Governador, a neighborhood in the north of Rio de Janeiro .
The prisoner is identified by the PF as Ronnie Lessa’s driver in a crime committed in 2014. On that occasion, a militia member and his girlfriend were killed with more than 40 rifle shots.
Today’s action aimed to seize 50 irregular firearms that were in the possession of “Juninho”, who is a former CAC, because his registration was cancelled. Part of the weapon was located by the agents, who arrested the suspect in the act.
Agents seized 13 weapons and suspected illegal trade in firearms, ammunition and accessories. The penalty for these crimes can be up to 12 years in prison, in addition to a fine. The police also located ammunition with the detainee.
The PF will now continue the investigations to discover the whereabouts of the weapons that were not located.

Former military police officer Ronnie Lessa and former Rio de Janeiro councilor Cristiano Girão are facing legal charges for the double homicide of former police officer André Henrique da Silva Souza, known as André “Zóio”, and his girlfriend, Juliana Sales de Oliveira.
The crime took place in June 2014 in the west zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Luiz Paulo Lemos Junior, “Juninho” or “Chupeta”, is named as Lessa’s driver in the action.
In this case, Lessa is named as one of the perpetrators of the shooting. Girão, according to the complaint from the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro, was the person who ordered the crime. According to investigations, André “Zóio” was threatening the former councilor’s leadership in the militia active in Gardênia Azul, a neighborhood in the West Zone of Rio.
The defendants were placed under preventive detention for this crime on July 29, 2021. The decision was upheld in a custody hearing held on July 31, 2021.

The investigation by the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro indicates that a vehicle driven by former military police officer Élcio de Queiroz matched the parliamentarian’s car. From inside the vehicle, retired Military Police sergeant, Ronnie Lessa, allegedly shot at least 13 times at the group. The councilwoman, who was in the back seat, was shot four times in the head while Anderson was shot three times in the back.
