Samsung introduced a rugged Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro tablet with a removable battery

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, an all-in-one ruggedized tablet with Samsung Knox security features aimed at the mobile business. While it can withstand the harshest working environments, it’s thin (10.2mm), light (674g without case) and compact.

Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro is equipped with a 10.1-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. The display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, resistant to scratches and damage. The tablet can withstand drops from up to 1m, and with the included protective case, this distance is increased to 1.2m. The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro and the built-in S Pen are IP68 rated against water and the device also complies with the military standard MIL-STD-810H.

The novelty works on a 6-nm eight-core chipset. The manufacturer does not name the model, but early leaks hinted at the Snapdragon 778G. Samsung will offer the tablet in two memory configurations: 4/64GB and 6/128GB. There is a slot for microSD memory cards up to 1 TB. Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro has two cameras. The main one is represented by a single module of 13 megapixels, the front one – by 8 megapixels. Other specs include support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2. There are also two microphones and Dolby Atmos sound. The tablet is powered by a 7600 mAh battery. In this model, the battery is removable and can be purchased separately.

Sales of Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro will start in September in some European countries. The company also plans to launch the tablet in Asia, Latin and North America, and the Middle East later in 2022. The cost of new items is still unknown.
