“Sometimes it hurts”: Adam Sandler confesses that it is difficult to receive criticism about his films

One of the most recognized actors in the world is Adam Sandler, who recently spoke with the AARP media regarding how hard it has sometimes been to read the criticisms made of his films, since most of them have been labeled as “ audiovisual garbage.

Regarding the opinions that denote his work, the actor mentioned that although it is something that affects him and he is aware of the negative comments, he prefers not to focus on them or be disturbed.

Sometimes it hurts, especially since I invite all these amazing people that I appreciate to make movies with me and I wish they didn’t have to read crap about what we do. But it doesn’t bother me too much.

Adam has always been considered the man-child and an easy target for film critics because of the themes of his films, with their crazy and fake voices, their faces and their jokes. However, in said interview he emphasized that far from external opinions, he only seeks to be happy and is happy by doing his job, even when he is not well received by third parties.

I want the public to continue enjoying what I do. I hope that you have enjoyed my films, with what we have given you and, whether you like me or not, that you appreciate that I have tried my best.

Within all his efforts we must remember the good work he did in dramas like Uncut Gems, for which he received the 2020 Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. Also, in 2023 we will be seeing him in another serious but sci-fi drama called Spacemanwhere he plays an astronaut who faces mortality and existential loneliness in the confines of the solar system.

Another of the productions where we can see the actor in a different facet is the recently released film hustle, whose plot is based on basketball. In the film, he plays a mentor to a player with dreams of reaching the top of the NBA. In the first days of its premiere, it was the most watched movie on Netflix, with more than 84.58 million views and, unlike his other projects, this time they have been mostly positive comments.

And it’s not for less, because Stanley Sugarman, a character played by Adam, is a scout for the Philadelphia 76ers who travels the world looking for the new great promise of basketball. On a trip to Spain, he finds himself in a street game with Bo Cruz, the diamond in the rough that he has been looking for so long, so he decides to risk everything to take him to the big leagues.
