A 28-year-old man was arrested this Thursday afternoon (7), for drug trafficking and illegal firearms trade in Mangaratiba, on the Costa Verde of Rio de Janeiro.
During the joint action between the Federal Police, Federal Highway Police and the Municipal Civil Guard of Mangaratiba, the man offered R$25,000 to be released. For the attempted bribery, he will also be responsible for active corruption.
The suspect’s vehicle was approached by agents and a sniffer dog managed to locate a rifle, eight magazines and 4 kg of drugs in the fuel tank.
According to investigations, the suspect, who lives in Volta Redonda, in the south of Rio de Janeiro, was transporting illicit products from Rio de Janeiro to Angra dos Reis.
The investigations will continue by the Federal Police Station in Angra dos Reis and the Sensitive Investigations Group of the Federal Police.
The prisoner will be charged with drug trafficking, illegal firearms trade and active corruption. If convicted, the sentence could reach 39 years in prison.
