Singer Taylor Swift announced the postponement of The Eras Tour show that she would perform in Rio de Janeiro this Saturday (18) two hours before the scheduled start time of the performance at the Nilton Santos stadium, Engenhão.
At around 5:30 pm, the American singer published a text in her official Instagram stories announcing that the show had been postponed due to the heat wave hitting the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Taylor would take the stage at 7:30 pm, according to Time For Fun, the company that produces the tour in Brazil.
“I’m writing from my dressing room at the stadium. We have decided to postpone today’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, my castmates and crew are and will always come first,” wrote the American.

Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD), in a video published on X (formerly Twitter), announced that the show that Taylor would perform today was rescheduled for Monday (20).
He also stated that he heard from the show’s organizing team that Taylor is shaken by the death of Ana Clara, who had a cardiorespiratory arrest after feeling ill inside the Engenhão stadium during the show on Friday (17).
“There are two factors that lead to the show being postponed from today to Monday. Firstly, the artist seems to be unwell given what happened yesterday. In fact, the temperature in Engenhão is very high, there is a lot of medical care. I want to ask people who didn’t arrive at Engenhão to turn around, not to leave the house”, said Paes.
This Saturday, the city of Rio de Janeiro recorded an all-time record for thermal sensation, at 8:10 am, with 59.7ºC, at Guaratiba station, in the west zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The information was disclosed to CNN by the Rio Operations Center, from the city hall.
In addition to the show that was postponed until Monday, Taylor Swift still has four more performances in Brazil scheduled. On Sunday (19), she sings at Engenhão. On the 24th, 25th, 26th, the singer takes The Eras Tour to the Allianz Parque stadium, in São Paulo.
In a statement, T4F, organizer of the event, said that the postponement was decided “due to the adverse weather conditions today and prioritizing public safety”. “All tickets for Saturday’s performance will remain valid for Monday’s show.”
