At the end of October, sales of new cars in Russia fell by 18.1%, but Chinese manufacturers continue to set one record after another. Below are data from the Association of European Businesses for October and the first ten months of this year.
In October, the share of Chinese cars in Russia reached 10.9%. First on the list of the most successful Chinese manufacturers is Haval, which sold 4,803 vehicles, improving last year’s result by 199%. Chery took second place with 4,098 cars (+ 174%), Geely came third, which sold 3,002 cars (+ 49%). The top ten also includes Changan, CheryExeed, FAW, GAC and other manufacturers.
This year, Chinese cars made it into the top 25 three times for the month. Now in the rating of the 25 best-selling there were three models at once: the most popular “Chinese” in Russia at the moment – the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro crossover – took 19th place, Chery Tiggo 4 got on the 22nd line, and Haval Jolion closes the top 25.
Haval has never sold more than 4,000 cars a month before, but now it has exceeded 4,800 vehicles, which puts it in 9th place in the overall standings. The total sales of Haval for the entire period of operation in Russia amount to almost 60 thousand vehicles, in the first 10 months of the year the company sold 29 856 vehicles (+ 125%).
Chery ranks second after Haval in sales of Chinese cars since the beginning of the year, increasing the pace by 288% to 28 786 cars. Geely ranks third with 16,953 vehicles (+ 67%).
