Khalid Abdalla, that Variety said he was chosen by Netflix to play Dodi Al-Fayed – Egyptian businessman, who died on the cursed night of August 31, 1997, together with Lady Diana – in the fifth chapter of The Crown, he is perhaps the most similar among the actors of the television series.
Egyptian, like Al-Fayed, should take over at the end of The Crown 5, to tell the last love of Diana Spencer. The fifth season of the series Netflix, in which Lady D will be played by Elizabeth Debicki, it should, in fact, focus on the nineties of the British monarchy: the annus horribilis of Queen Elizabeth II, the marital crisis of Diana and Charles, then the story between the people’s princess and Al-Fayed.
Everything should fit within The Crown, almost. The screenwriters, although contacted by the US magazine, did not want to provide any clarification on the boundaries of television narration. It is not clear, therefore, if the Netflix series will dare to recreate the incident that ended the life of Dodi Al-Fayed and Lady Diana Spencer.
