There are not enough hands to grasp. Cheap 86-inch TV Redmi Max 86 on live photos – in the elevator and at home
Yesterday Redmi presented one of its most interesting new products – the 86-inch Redmi Max 86 TV at a price of only $ 1240. The main advantage of the device is its compactness: the creators immediately noted that thanks to special packaging, such a TV will fit in 99.9% of elevators (by the way, for this, a special three-month study was even carried out, which affected residential properties in 58 cities of China!).
Today the first “unboxing” of new items appeared, which confirm the official data: Redmi Max 86 really fits in the elevator. But only vertically.
The pictures above, the picture clearly demonstrates how the largest model of the line is delivered – the 98-inch Redmi Max 98. Of course, the 86-inch model is much easier to deliver home: it can be pushed on the floor alone, and it is still somehow fits. Well, at home, it is more convenient to unpack the TV together, because the dimensions of the box are 2060 x 200 x 1260 mm.
How big is the TV screen? Take a look at the picture below: a 180mm person is trying to grab the display. And it doesn’t work.
The TV is installed on ordinary legs in the shape of a triangle, and on the back panel there are special handles for easy portability.
The delivery set includes a wireless remote control. It is made of plastic and connects to a TV via Bluetooth. The button marked with a microphone icon is needed for voice input of commands.
The TV uses a 4K IPS matrix. The manufacturer claims 92% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Testing with measurement equipment also showed coverage of 100% sRGB, 86% AdobeRGB and 82% NTSC.
The hardware platform of the cheap Redmi Max 86 is exactly the same as that of the expensive Mi TV Master 65 “OLED – MediaTek MT9650. The amount of RAM and flash memory is 2 and 32 GB, respectively, and the OS is MIUI for TV 3.0 based on Android. 9.
Redmi Max 86 supports MEMC technology for dynamic image quality compensation, and this is how it works:
The TV indicates that the power consumption is 450 W – a lot! But in fact, the measured maximum is 264 watts when playing 4K video at 60 fps.
The TV’s interface connectors are as follows:
The conclusions of the first reviews are unambiguous: Redmi Max 86 is an ideal solution if you need a model with a large diagonal. The 98-inch big brother is much more expensive, and you can’t do without difficulties in delivery. The Redmi Max 86 is less messy, and the pleasure of watching a movie or playing games on a large display is about the same. This TV is sure to be a hit in the home market, but it is not yet clear if it will be officially sold outside of China.
