O TikTok, like Spotify, adhered to what we expect every year-end — the retrospective. The selection brings together topics of the best moments and videos that hit the platform the most. On the website, the social network which received more than 1 billion people in 2021, separated everything that happened best on ‘For You’.
In release, Vanessa Peppas, Head of Operations for TikTok said: “There is something really special about the diverse global community at TikTok that people don’t find anywhere else. For us, 2021 was a connecting year and we saw people on TikTok laughing together, having fun, initiating cultural phenomena and teaching new things. It’s been amazing to see the depth of entertainment and creativity in this community, and we’re delighted to celebrate all the ways we’ve come together this year on the platform.”
Ronaldo Marques, head of TikTok’s content partnerships in Brazil, said that trends in the country are starting to spread in the ‘For You’ feeds, with content on education, humor, duets, gastronomy, among others, resonating on the platform. He wrote that the team is very happy to see how much joy users were able to share. “We are excited to experience more amazing moments as we continue this journey together,” he added.
