Two-month fire for the construction sector with project auctions amounting to 6.1 billion

The staffs of the Construction Clubs have been on fire lately due to the tenders that have been scheduled from today until February 28, for projects totaling 6.1 billion euros.

The tenders scheduled for January and February, are the large volume of projects under auction planned for this year and will turn the country into a vast construction site, as stated by the officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

The battle that will be fought between the powerful in the industry is great, as the new projects come from a long period of drought in the field of public works.

The start of the auction front starts on Friday, January 14th for the 6 new railway projects totaling 4.1 billion euros.

These are:

1. Construction of a new railway line Thessaloniki-Toxotes, amounting to 1.68 billion euros (2.09 billion euros including VAT).

2. Upgrading of the existing with doubling and installation of signaling-ETCS and electrification of the railway line in the section Alexandroupoli-Ormenio, amounting to 1.07 billion euros (1.33 billion euros including VAT).

3. Construction of a new suburban railway line for the connection of Rafina and the Port of Rafina with the existing railway network, amounting to 309 million euros (383.16 million euros including VAT).

4. Completion of the new double railway line Kiato-Patra in the section Rio – New Port of Patras, amounting to 477 million euros (591.48 million euros including VAT)

5. Construction of a new suburban railway line in the section from the Koropi Junction to Lavrio and the Port of Lavrio, amounting to 391 million euros (484.84 million euros including VAT).

6. Railway connection of the 6th Pier of Thessaloniki Port and construction of a Suburban Railway of Western Thessaloniki, amounting to 53.5 million euros (66.34 million euros including VAT).

Next week the contractors for Flyover and Kalamata Methoni

Within the next week, the bidders of the two big projects that were auctioned at the end of 2021 will probably be announced.

This is the project “Upgrading of the Eastern Inner Peripheral of Thessaloniki to S.P.I.T.” or Flyover, provides for the construction of improvement and upgrade projects of the Eastern Inner Ring Road of Thessaloniki, with a budget of 373 million euros.

The second project that was auctioned is the “Design, Construction, Financing, Operation and Maintenance of the Road Axis Southwest Peloponnese, Department Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni, with PPP”, which includes the construction and upgrade of the National Road Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos and Pylos – Methoni, with a total length of about 50 km and has a budget of 251 million euros.

What is coming in January

The tender for the section of the North Road Axis “Hersonissos – Neapoli” is scheduled for January 24, which will be implemented through a Public-Private Partnership.

Four schemes have been selected for this project:

ΑΒΑΞ (with the Marguerite fund),

J / M Mytilineos-INTERTOLL.

This section “Hersonissos-Neapoli”, is the first project of the new VOAK that will begin construction. Its total cost amounts to 300 million euros.

What is coming in February

Auction barrage comes in the period from 15 to 22 February, as the auction of four major road projects is expected.

This is the tender of the department of BOAK in the department “Neapoli-Agios Nikolaos” which is scheduled for February 22 and has a budget of 200 million euros.

Also for February 15, the tender for the road project Bralos-Amfissa is planned, with a budget of 280 million euros, while in the period from February 15 to 22, the tenders for the Bypass of Chalkida with a budget of 220 million euros and for the extension of Kymi Avenue will be held. , with a budget of EUR 370 million.
