Two paratroopers are injured in training for the September 7 act in RJ

The training for the paratrooper presentation for the Bicentennial of Independence in Rio de Janeiro did not end as expected. Two of the six paratroopers who jumped on Copacabana beach were injured on landing.

Images circulating on social media show a soldier tangled up in a tree and another being rescued on a street in the neighborhood. THE CNN sought the Army and awaits return.

The Fire Department confirmed to the CNN that the two were rescued by the 17th Group of Military Firefighters, which sent ambulances to the scene. One of them was taken to Miguel Couto Hospital. The other was taken in by an Army health team.

This Tuesday (6), the report of the CNN spoke with representatives of the Army paratroopers who were in Copacabana.

They stated that it is not a usual place for jumps and landings, but suggested that the military had training even to land at sea if necessary.

Paratroopers will participate in the official program of the Bicentennial of Independence. The Parachute Infantry Brigade’s free jumps will be watched by the public and authorities present, including President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and Governor Cláudio Castro (PL).

The platform set up in Copacabana will have parachute ornaments as decoration.
