United States: Biden laments “embarrassment” around Trump’s resistance

Joe Biden does not seem embarrassed by the resistance of Donald Trump, who still refuses to concede defeat. “I think it’s a source of embarrassment, honestly,” replied the Democrat to a journalist who asked him about the attitude of the Republican billionaire on Tuesday, November 10. “I believe it will not serve the legacy of the president,” he added from his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

But “the fact that they (the Republicans) don’t want to recognize at this point that we’ve won doesn’t have much of an impact on our” transition agenda and “what we’re able to do between now and January 20, ”the day of the investiture, he said. “We are already starting the transition, it is already well underway,” he added, explaining in particular working on the composition of his future government.

There is no proof

The head of American diplomacy Mike Pompeo on Tuesday supported the position of Donald Trump by refusing him also to recognize the victory of Joe Biden, and by promising a “smooth transition” to a “second” term of the Republican. The outgoing president has promised to fight in court to obtain a reversal of the results, without however providing the slightest proof of the massive “frauds” which he denounces. “There is no proof of the allegations made by President or Secretary of State Pompeo,” Joe Biden said Tuesday, before repeating the name of the US foreign minister with a mocking laugh.
