“Today courage has a name. That name is Ukraine. Courage has one face: the men and women resisting the Russian invasion,” said the President of the European Commission.

Alongside congratulated the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelensky, who was present at the Plenary of the European Parliament, for her and her husband’s courage in inspiring an entire people. “You gave your people a voice on the world stage and gave hope to all of us. Long live Ukraine!”, stressed Ursula von der Leyen.

Continuing, he emphasized that the EU’s financial support to Ukraine will continue. As he said, the EU will give 100 million euros to help rebuild schools in Ukraine, while he stressed that the Commission will work to get Ukraine immediate access to the EU’s single market. He also announced that he will travel to Kyiv tomorrow to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Among the proposals presented by Ursula von der Leyen, in the Plenary Session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, are the ceiling on the surplus revenues of power generation companies, which will generate 140 billion euros.

Proposal for a single set of tax rules for doing business in Europe
