US Navy SEAL tried to access Biden’s health records, military says

A member of the United States Navy tried to access President Joe Biden’s medical records “out of curiosity” but was unable to do so, the Navy said on Tuesday (9), adding that the Democrat’s medical records were not compromised at any time.

In a statement, the Navy said it was notified in February that a sailor had attempted to search for “Joe Biden” in the Army’s electronic health records system.

A U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the sailor tried to access the records three times within a few hours.

“The record the sailor accessed was not the electronic record of the President of the United States… (the) system is a secure health system and at no time was the President’s personal information compromised,” the statement added.

A colleague had reported the sailor’s attempt, and the Navy concluded its investigation in April. The sailor was punished administratively but remains in the Armed Forces.

Biden has fought back criticism from some in the Democratic Party that he lacks the mental acuity needed to be the party’s nominee in the Nov. 5 presidential election against Donald Trump.

The president says he will not abandon the campaign.
