His agents F.B.I who searched his home on Monday Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, they seized 11 sets of classified documentsincluding some that were classified as “top secret”the US Department of Justice announced on Friday (12/8), also revealing that had reason to believe that the former US president may have violated the Espionage Act.
The “bombshell” revelation was made through legal documents which came to light four days after FBI agents raided Trump’s residence. Federal judge releases search warrant and inventory of seized materials.
The US Department of Justice, in its request to Judge Bruce Rinehart for the issuance of the warrant that preceded the researchsaid it had reason to believe Trump may have violated the Espionage Act, which prohibits the possession or transmission of national security information.
According to the search warrant they are listed three possible offences which the Justice Department is investigating: Violation of the Espionage Act, obstruction of justice and illegal handling of government records.

A report published by the Washington Post spoke of documents related to nuclear weapons. This information has not been confirmed or denied by the authorities.
It was denied, however, by Donald Trump, who also claimed that documents seized by FBI were ‘all declassified’ and claimed that he would have handed over the documents to the Ministry of Justice if asked.
Among other things, Trump said on the social media startup he created, Truth Social, how “the nuclear weapons thing is a hoax”equating it to the Russia controversies, an investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller and his two subpoenas.
“Some lousy people involved,” he said.
Earlier, the newspaper Wall Street Journal reported that FBI agents took from Trump’s home about 20 boxes of items, a file of photographs, a handwritten note and the executive pardon of the former president’s friend and adviser, Roger Stone.
If the revelations that Trump kept in his possession are confirmed “top secret” documentsthe former US president will face major legal problems.
“Top Secret” is the highest level of classification and concerns the most important information for national security. Typically, such documents are kept in special government facilities because their disclosure could cause irreparable damage to national security..
Federal law prohibits the mishandling of classified material, such as its unauthorized removal and retention. Trump himself had toughened penalties on this issue during his time in the White House, making it a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
While sitting presidents have the power to declassify information, that power ends when they complete their term. It is unclear whether the documents in question were ever declassified. Trump also kept the documents despite multiple requests from agencies, including the National Archives, to turn over the presidential records under federal law.
