Medical student at the University of São Paulo (USP) Alicia Muller, investigated for embezzlement, responds nine times for the crime. There were nine transfers carried out between November 2021 and December 2022, between amounts ranging from R$2,800 to R$604,000.
The amounts were transferred to at least three accounts in the student’s name.
According to sources heard by the CNN two students who gave testimony to the Civil Police said that Alicia, as president of the graduation committee, would have to register in a notary a statute created by the other members, which prevented withdrawals greater than R$10,000.
In the contract with Ás Formaturas, without the statute, it would have the right to transfer unlimited amounts.
Alicia Muller is also investigated for embezzlement and money laundering due to lottery bets without payouts.
The case will be transferred from the State Department of Criminal Investigations (DEIC) of São Bernardo do Campo, in ABC Paulista, to the 16th Police District, in Ipiranga, South Zone of São Paulo.
