New images obtained by the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro show the moment when the taxi driven by Eduardo Henry Nogueira Gripp crashes into the motorcycle on which Alan Nogueira Sales, 22, was riding. The crash occurred last Friday (31), in Vila Isabel, in the north of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, and caused the death of the motorcyclist.
The video from inside the taxi shows that the victim signaled that he was going to stop with the motorcycle, but ended up being hit the next moment. The taxi driver fled without providing help and Alan ends up dying after hitting a pole. See the images below.
The new evidence obtained by the investigation contradicts what taxi driver Eduardo Henry said, that he had braked after accidentally hitting the motorcycle. The driver gave a statement last Tuesday (4) and stated that he did not provide assistance for fear of being attacked.
Witnesses and the victim’s family say the crash was intentional

The first witnesses heard by the 20th DP (Vila Isabel) state that Eduardo and Alan argued before the raid. According to testimony, the motorcyclist had broken the taxi’s rear-view mirror and, shortly thereafter, a chase began. For the victim’s family, Eduardo intended to cause the accident and, consequently, the young man’s death.
In his statement, Eduardo confirmed the argument and that his rear view mirror was broken, but denied his intention to hit the motorcycle.
The case was registered at the 20th DP as culpable homicide, but sources interviewed by the CNN claim that the new images could change the direction of investigations into manslaughter with possible intent, when the risk of killing is assumed.
In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the images from the cameras found in the taxi are being analyzed. “Agents carry out investigations to elucidate and define the classification of the crime”, says the statement.
