Starting January 1, 2025, guests staying at any of Disney’s 25+ Orlando hotels will have access to free entry in one of the water parks of the complex.
The benefit will be included in the stay and will be valid only for the day of check-in regardless of the category of hotel chosen, whether it is economy or deluxe.
There is no minimum number of nights in the Disney Resort Hotels to earn the benefit and all guests in the room will be able to enter one of the two water parks, the Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or the Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park .
“It’s something that enhances the stay at Disney hotels. Not only do guests have this immersion of being closer to the parks and the magic, but they now have a day to enjoy the water parks,” he says. Cynthia Douglas director of sales and marketing for Disney Destinations in Latin America.
At this time, water park reservations are not required. Use of the benefit will be subject to availability and Walt Disney World Resort recommends checking water park hours close to arrival to plan your check-in day.
“What we often recommend is that, if the passenger arrives late at night, they spend the first night in another hotel so that they can enjoy the benefit the next day,” says Cinthia.
Disney’s water parks
Opened in 1989 and 1995 respectively, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park are the two water parks at Walt Disney World Resort. Both are open during certain seasons of the year, but not simultaneously. Therefore, when one is open, the other closes – check the calendar of dates and times here.
While Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is themed to mimic a typhoon passing through a tropical island, with ships, fishing nets and surfboards scattered throughout the park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach is themed to resemble a melting Florida ski resort, with “flooded” areas and a ski lift.
Water slides, lazy rivers and swimming pools are part of the attractions. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has the largest outdoor wave pool in North America where even lessons for experienced surfers are offered before the park opens or after it closes, with prices starting at US$ 245. Close to Disney Springs, it is the most visited water park in North America with almost 1.9 million visitors in 2023.
But Disney’s Blizzard Beach is no slouch. Consistently ranked second among the most visited water parks in North America, it stands out for its Summit Plummet slide, one of the tallest free-fall slides in the world, at over 120 feet high and launching visitors down a steep path at over 55 mph. There’s also an area inspired by “Frozen,” with shallow pools featuring images of Olaf and an igloo for Anna and Elsa.
These parks do not require prior booking and regular tickets cost US$ 68 (excluding fees) for children between 3 and 9 years old and US$ 74 for visitors over the age of 10. Blackout tickets are also available for $58 for children between the ages of 3 and 9 and $64 for people over the age of 10, but cannot be used between May 25 and September 29, 2024 and May 24 and September 28, 2025.
Disney Resort Hotel Benefits
Other benefits continue to be available to travelers staying at a Walt Disney World Resort.
Currently, guests can enter the four theme parks 30 minutes before regular opening times opening date. Guests of deluxe category hotels or deluxe category Disney Villas are also entitled to extended hours after park closures, with select attractions, shops and restaurants – this benefit only applies to certain parks and on select nights.
Another advantage is the free transportation guests to the theme parks and Disney Springs shopping center. The range of options includes buses, boats, monorail and cable car, the latter called Disney Skyliner.
Finally, guests also have early access to restaurant reservations of the complex, which can be done from 60 days before the first day of arrival.
What’s new from 2025
Free entry for guests to the Walt Disney World Resort water parks is just one of the new features that will begin to take shape at the complex starting in 2025.
