Old Windows operating systems are associated not only with wallpapers and interface, but also, of course, pre-installed games. The famous Minesweeper was no exception, it appeared back in Windows 3.1, but still causes nostalgia – numerous “ports” for Android and iOS prove this. Against the backdrop of Minesweeper’s continued popularity, even in 2022, a programmer with the nickname FireCubeStidios released OurSweeper, an unofficial modern version of the game, created entirely according to the canons of Windows 11 design.
The visual style of Fluent Design from the new operating system is visible in any element of the game: from the minefield itself to inscriptions and settings. The programmer not only refreshed the classic Minesweeper in Windows, but also added a timer setting, the number of rows and columns, as well as the number of mines on the field.
In addition, the user can turn the Aurora effect on and off, as well as choose one of two themes: Mica or Acrylic (both are used in the latest system). OurSweeper is available not only for Windows 11 but also for Windows 10.
