A 31-year-old woman decided to record the attacks that her husband committed against her. The victim installed a camera in the couple’s bedroom and captured the violence committed by his partner.
The video was recorded at the beginning of the month, in the house where they both lived, in Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo. The images show the woman struggling on the mattress and trying to free herself from her husband, who is on top of her body.
A CNN chose not to show the content of the video.
In the video, the victim asks not to be attacked. The man then manages to hold both of his wife’s arms and punches her in the face.
Then the attacker asks: “Am I hitting you? Am I hitting you?” The woman starts crying and the attacker tries to cover her mouth with his hands. The man still says: “Enough, enough, okay.”
The woman begs him to take his hands off her, and, in tears, says she is tired of being beaten.” The husband doesn’t move and remains on top of the woman’s body, asking her to stop crying.
The victim published a statement on Instagram saying that she released the video because she could no longer stand being beaten. She said that, after the repercussions of the case, her husband fled and is now being sought by the police.
The woman thanked the messages of support she received on social media and stated that the video she decided to publish is a warning to all those who suffer domestic violence.
The case was registered at the Sorocaba Women’s Police Station and the Civil Police are continuing their search to find the attacker.
