China customs has issued December trade balance data in USD terms, reporting a growing trade surplus, while imports and exports increase more than expected.
In USD terms:
- The trade balance stood at + 78.17 billion, compared to the + 72.35 billion expected and the + 75.40 billion of the previous month.
- Exports (year-on-year): + 18.1%, compared to the + 15.0% expected and the + 21.1% previously.
- Imports (YoY): + 6.5% , compared to the + 5.0% expected and the + 4.5% previously.
